Bitter Remedy
I was inspired by how much nature can both heal and poison us, and by the way herbal knowledge quietly runs through the history of medicine. So I created a pattern layering the subtle silhouette of ivy with a fine line drawing of rauvolfia serpentina, a root once used to calm the mind. It reminds me of the illustrated plates in old natural history albums, where scientists catalogued plants with the same quiet attention regardless of what they revealed. I made it to feel like a cabinet full of interesting, quietly decorative scientific specimens.
I created it with cozy home interiors in mind: bedding, cushions, kitchen fabrics, wallpaper and calm interior accents.
