Spring block garden

I was inspired by a set of linocut stamps I carved over one week - poppies, cornflowers and small wild blossoms, cut by hand and inked one at a time. So I created a pattern built entirely from these hand-carved blocks, printed and rearranged until the layout felt loose and unplanned, keeping every rough edge and uneven ink line the process left behind. It reminds me of the particular rhythm of printmaking - carve, ink, press, repeat - and the small surprises that come with it. I made it to feel playful and a little rough around the edges, like a stamp collection rather than a drawing.

I created it with dresses, table linens, stationery and cheerful home textiles and wallpapers in mind.
